X (Twitter)

X supports text, images, videos, and albums, plus reply chains that publish several posts as a thread.

Post types

TypeAPI valueWhat it publishes
TexttextA text-only post.
ImageimageOne image with text.
VideovideoOne video with text.
Albumalbum2 to 4 images or videos with text. Images and videos can be mixed.

Credit X

Publishing to X uses Credit X, which you buy as an add-on:

  • Each published post uses 1 credit.
  • In a thread, every post counts, including the main one. A thread with a main post and 2 replies uses 3 credits.

If your balance runs out, the schedule fails with the message "your credit balance on X (Twitter) is insufficient". Buy more credits, then retry the schedule.

Media requirements

Images

  • Formats: JPEG, PNG, WebP.
  • File size: up to 5 MB per image.

Videos

  • Formats: MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio.
  • File size: up to 512 MB.
  • Duration: up to 2 minutes 20 seconds for most accounts. X Premium accounts can post longer videos.

Text limits

  • Text (description): up to 280 characters.

Links aren't clickable

X charges more to publish posts that contain links, so Repliz writes links with the dot in brackets: repliz.com/pricing is published as repliz[.]com/pricing. The link shows as plain text and can't be clicked. This applies to the post and to every reply in a thread.

Extra options

Option in the dashboardAPI fieldApplies toWhat it does
RepliesrepliesAll typesPublishes a thread: a chain of replies under your post, each with its own type, text, and media.
  • Replies are available only when every account in the schedule is Threads or X.
  • Replies are published one by one, about 20 seconds apart. If one reply fails, the replies after it aren't published.
